The colours, the smell, and the people was just so much to take in. Marrakesh is definitely a beautiful city and such a vibrant one. At night is was full of life and during the day there were more people out and about than my home town, this is all in the holly month of ramadan. Well compared to Saudi where the streets are dead during the day in the same month, this was a completely different scenery.
Town centre or as they call it ‘The Medina’ has narrow roads so not many cars but so many scooters flying pass, it’s the standard form of transport for the locals; men, women, boys and girls are riding one to get around.
An eye opener it was, imagine being in Africa but having the old cultural Arab architecture and then hearing the locals speaking moroccan Arabic or switching to French. Wow just wow it was an amazing experience and took a while to take in.
I recommend walking about and just finding things, every corner of every street offers something different and thats the beauty of it.
