Not a donkey, it’s a ferrari – Hiking Petra

Two words! Be… prepared! The Petra hike is not a joke, water is a must and so is comfortable shoes and clothing so just don’t forget that. When you think you can’t carry on the hike just remember my grandad can do it haha.

Petra is really pretty, the tombs you explore at the beginning of the journey are very cool, information is provided in Arabic, English and I believe French. Getting there early is definitely a goal to avoid loads of people… so get up early you lazy sod and stretch for the hike.

Hike trails:

There was a smaller tomb and I thought wow awesome it’s already done, what’s the point? I bought hiking shoes just to walk here? The answer was NO! I had 3 hours of hard rock and up hill hike to go through. You could take a few breaks but remember not to be a sucker by jumping on a donkey to take the easy way up. “it’s not a donkey, it’s a ferrari.” the young guys speak English so they will try and persuade you to jump on a donkey. DON’T DO IT! hahaha
